ATLANTA – On August 25, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Criminal Investigations Division took out warrants on Gregory William Geczi, 29, of Naples, Florida, for 1 Count of Insurance Fraud and 1 Count of Theft by Deception. The charges stem from Geczi’s time working as an agent for American Senior Benefits, where he allegedly changed bank account information from his employer to his personal account, pocketing over $74,000 in commission payments from a Columbus, Georgia-based Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield office. “I’m proud of the close coordination between our Criminal Investigations Division and Blue Cross Blue Shield on this case,” said Commissioner King. “These alleged crimes were committed against a Georgia-based agency by an individual working in Maine at the time and building this case required significant time and effort from all involved.”

Insurance fraud is a felony punishable by imprisonment for two to 10 years, or by a fine of up to $10,000.00, or both. To report suspected insurance fraud, contact the Georgia Department of Insurance at 800-656-2298. Callers can choose to remain anonymous.
