Firefighters Recognition Day is a statewide day established by Georgia law to honor and celebrate the dedicated members of the fire service community. Each year, firefighters from across Georgia gather at the State Capitol, where state leaders formally recognize their service, commitment, and impact on public safety. The day features special commendations presented to outstanding award recipients from the Georgia State Firefighters Association, the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Georgia Fire Inspectors Association—highlighting exceptional achievements and honoring those who go above and beyond in their roles.
