New Company Licensing
- Traditional Companies
- Georgia requires newly licensed companies to register & apply online through the GIMS Company Portal in addition to Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA) for initial licensing of Traditional Companies. Filings must be submitted in each portal before review and processing.

Update Contact and Address Information for Current Active Entities
Regulated entities can now update Company contact information such as address, email, telephone number and fax number for various contact types in real time via GIMS Company portal. This newly designed portal creates a more efficient process for regulated entities to update the State of Georgia with recent company changes.
To access the new portal, you will be required to create an account by registering with your entities’ License number and NAIC number. Only one registration is required per company. If your Company is already registered for the portal, please contact your current portal Administrators to get set up with log in credentials as a User.
During the registration process, you are also required to provide an Authorization Letter on company letterhead signed by the Company’s President, Vice President, Assistant Vice President, CEO, COO, CFO, or Secretary to obtain official access as an administrator for the Georgia Company Portal. This authorization letter must be uploaded to the registration page or as a supplemental document for official company portal access.
The follow must be included when submitting your Authorization Letter:
- Complete Legal Name of the Company.
- The NAIC # and/ or Georgia License # of the Company.
- Name of the person assigned to the Administrator /User Role
- The Job Title of the person assigned to the Administrator /User Role
- Telephone No. of the Administrator/User
- Email Address of the Administrator/User
- Work Address of the Administrator/User
***Please be advised, regulated companies are required to update changes to any address and contact information no later than 90 days after the effective date.
Instructions for updating Regulated Entities contacts within the portal
To update your company information, please follow the steps below to access and use the GIMS Company Portal
- Log In to the Portal
- Visit the GIMS Company Portal and enter the username and password you created during registration.
- Don’t have an account? You must submit a registration application to gain access to the portal (reference steps above). If your company is already registered, please contact your current portal Administrators for access to the portal.
- Forgot your password? Click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. You’ll receive an email with instructions to reset it.
- Access Your Company Profile
- Once logged in, select your company name to go to the Company Home Page.
- Update Contact Information
- Click on the "Contact Types" tab to view all available contact types.
- To make updates, click "Update" next to the relevant contact type.
- After making changes, click "Save" to apply the updates in real time.
- Click "Cancel" only if you do not wish to save your changes.

Statutory Changes
Companies now have the option to submit statutory changes and fees through the newly designed GIMS Company Portal. Examples of changes requiring statutory fees can include, but are not limited to, changes in a regulated company’s designated service of process, statutory home address, and/or domestication from one state to another state. These filings can be submitted under the Corporate Amendment Filing tab and the Service of Process filing tab on the GIMS Company Portal Home Screen. Please note that these changes are now a two-part filing process and must be submitted to the GIMS Company Portal and the UCAA Portal for processing.
Payment Changes
Please be advised that our lockbox phased away from the Corporate Amendment, Expansion, Service of Process, and Annual Renewal filing/application process. All hard copy checks will be returned to the sender or refunded if already processed through the lockbox. Payment methods are now processed through Credit Card or E-Check. If payments are submitted via E-Check, please be sure to contact your banking institution to provide them with the Insurance Financial Oversight Division’s ACH ID D586002001 to avoid a cancellation in payment from your bank***
Company Renewals
Company Annual Renewals are now completed online through the GIMS Company. Annual Renewals are due no later than March 1st of each filing year.
