Woman Arrested in Connection with Molena Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that April Jordan, 43, was arrested for Arson in the 1st Degree. The arrest stemmed from a July 11th incident in which a fire was set on the right side of Ms. Jordan’s residence near the laundry room.

Danielsville Fire Ruled Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Madison County fire has been ruled an act of Arson. The owner reported the fire to authorities on July 15th, and it is believed to have occurred while the property had previously been rented. The incident caused minimal damage to the 34-year-old, 1400-square-foot A-frame house.  

Man Arrested in Connection with Evans Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that John Kelly Dickerson, 39, was arrested for Arson in the 1st Degree. The arrest stemmed from a July 6th incident in which a fire was set in the living room area of Mr. Dickerson’s residence. When first responders arrived, Mr. Dickerson was seen fleeing the residence and became a primary suspect in the investigation.

Youth Arrested for Three Counts of Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that an 11-year-old male is in custody after being suspected of committing three acts of arson. The first fire occurred on July 1st at approximately 2:16 p.m. on Park Avenue in Sandersville. The second and third fires occurred subsequently on July 4th at 10:00 a.m. and 11:55 a.m. at a residence off Highway 242 in Bartow.

Molena Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Pike County residential fire was intentionally set. The fire occurred at approximately 10:33 a.m. on July 11th on Garland Street in Molena and significantly damaged the 113-year-old, 1210-square-foot house.

State Fire Marshal's Office Investigating Hartwell Speedway Fatality

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that the State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fatal accident caused by a race car with mechanical issues at Hartwell Speedway in Hart County at approximately 11:30 p.m. on July 3.

Columbia Fire Ruled Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigations Unit announced today that a recent Columbia County fire has been ruled Arson. The fire occurred on Sullivan Hartfield Road in Evans and was reported at approximately 6:43 p.m. on July 6th. Authorities determined the fire was intentionally set in the living room area of the modular home.

Habersham Restaurant Fire Ruled Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a recent Habersham County restaurant fire has been ruled an act of arson.

Attempted Commercial Arson in Hart County Under Investigation

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that his Fire Investigations Unit is currently investigating an attempted commercial arson in Hart County.
