ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that James Robinson, 18, is being charged with Arson in the 1st Degree, Burglary, Criminal Trespassing, and Obstruction in connection with a Charlton County fire. The instance occurred on Tuesday, September 7th, at approximately 9:00 a.m. and caused moderate damage to the 47-year-old 1,772-square-foot home.

“Upon examination of the scene, our Arson Investigators discovered that multiple fires had been intentionally set inside the structure,” said Commissioner King. “Through numerous community tips, investigators determined James Robinson of Homeland set the fires. Mr. Robinson was subsequently arrested and transported to the Charlton County Jail.”

Commissioner King’s Fire Investigations Unit assisted the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office and the Charlton County Fire Department with this investigation.
