ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that two Trenton fires were intentionally set. The two fires occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. on January 21st at a residence on Highway 11.

The first fire occurred in the interior of a boat located on the property. The perpetrator(s) also set a second fire near the heating and air unit of the house.

“The owner was home at the time of the fire and alerted emergency services,” said Commissioner King. “We are asking for the help of the community in bringing the perpetrator(s) to justice. Anyone with information about this Dade County fire is invited to call my Fire Investigations Unit at 1-800-282-5804.

Commissioner King’s Fire Investigations Unit is assisting the Dade County Sheriff’s Office with this investigation. In coordination with the State Fire Investigations Unit, a reward of up to $10,000 is offered by Georgia Arson Control for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.
