Thomas County Fatality Under Investigation

ATLANTA— Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a residential fire along Georgia Highway 188 in Thomas County is under investigation.

In the early hours of April 9th, the Thomas County Fire Department responded to a fire with a possible victim.

“Firefighters were able to locate a victim inside and another individual who was injured in the fire,” said Commissioner King. “Investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s office observed damage to over 95% of the structure. The cause of the fire will be classified as undetermined.”

This case is being worked on alongside the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office and the Thomas County Fire Department.
