ATLANTA – On November 16th, a member of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigations Unit was requested to assist in a fire investigation on Highway 20 in Loganville. The fire occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. and moderately damaged the 47-year-old, 1848-square-foot residence.

“A resident was home at the time of the fire and immediately called emergency services,” said Commissioner King. “Investigators arrived on scene to find a fire in the basement and, upon extinguishment, determined it was intentionally set. Anyone with information about this Walton County fire is invited to call my Fire Investigations Unit at 1-800-282-5804.”

Commissioner King’s Fire Investigations Unit is assisting the Walton County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office with this investigation. In coordination with the State Fire Investigations Unit, a reward of up to $10,000 is offered by Georgia Arson Control for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.
