ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Jesse Floyd, 33, of Broxton, has been charged with first-degree arson. The fire began at approximately 7:19 p.m. on August 27th and severely damaged the 910-square-foot structure.

“The residence was occupied earlier in the day, so we are fortunate that no injuries occurred as a result of this fire,” said Commissioner King. “One arrest has been made in connection with the fire, though investigators are still working to determine an exact cause.”

Commissioner King’s Fire Investigations Unit is coordinating with the Coffee County Fire Department, Broxton Fire Department, and Broxton Police Department on this case.
