ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Anthony Wright, 41, of Mableton, is being charged with insurance fraud and forgery.

In August of 2021, Mr. Wright initiated an auto insurance claim with his insurance company, stating that his vehicle was struck by road debris while driving on Interstate 285. Mr. Wright submitted a receipt claiming that he was towed by Besty’s Tire Service as evidence for his claim.

“Upon investigation, our special agents quickly determined the receipt was forged, as Besty’s Tire Service does not offer towing services, nor do they use computer generated receipts,” said Commissioner King. “The owner of Besty’s Tire Service further confirmed he completed the repair work on Mr. Wright’s vehicle prior to the claimed date of loss.”

Warrants were issued against Mr. Wright on September 28th, 2022, for one count each of Insurance Fraud and Forgery. He is still wanted at this time.
