ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Thomas Hawk, 39, of Bostwick, was killed in a residential structure fire.

On December 16th at 7:32 p.m., a passing driver called the Morgan County Fire Department to report a home fire on Bostwick Road.

“With help from a passing driver and his grandfather, Mr. Hawk’s thirteen-year-old son was rescued from the fire,” said Commissioner King. “Upon extinguishment, investigators discovered Mr. Hawk’s body in the hallway of the residence. The fire was caused by an electrical shortage in the attic and has thus been ruled accidental in nature.”

Our office assisted the Morgan County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office with this investigation.
