Christmas Eve Fire Kills One in Franklin County

ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that one victim was killed and four were injured in a Christmas Eve fire on Buttercup Lane in Gumlog during the early morning hours.

“The deceased victim has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab for positive identification, and the four other occupants were taken to a local hospital for treatment,” said Commissioner King. “The residence was completely destroyed by the fire, the cause of which is still under investigation at this time.

Our office is working with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Gumlog Fire Department on this case.
