ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Ronald Langley Jr., 55, of Dalton, has been charged with insurance fraud and obstruction after staging a slip and fall accident.

“In May of 2022, Mr. Langley alleged to Kroger employees that he slipped on a product spill while shopping,” said Commissioner King. “The suspect then reported the incident to his insurance company and Sedgwick Claims Management Services with the intent to seek damages through a Personal Injury lawsuit. Unfortunately for Mr. Langley, he was caught intentionally lowering himself into the spill by the store’s surveillance system.”

Mr. Langley attempted to evade investigators by providing them with false personal information during initial telephone conversations.

Warrants were taken out against Mr. Langley on June 15th in Whitfield County. He is still wanted at this time.
