Forsyth Man Wanted for Insurance Fraud

ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Patrick Morse, 41, of Cumming, has been charged with two counts of insurance fraud.

In September 2020, Mr. Morse purchased a high-end gold bracelet worth $7,062. Later that same month, the suspect claimed to law enforcement officials in San Diego, California, that he was the victim of a robbery and that his jewelry was stolen. In October 2020, he submitted a fraudulent insurance application to cover the gold bracelet and a second bracelet he allegedly purchased in 2014 for more than $16,000.

“On December 1, 2020, Mr. Morse was involved in a traffic accident and was transported to a nearby hospital for alleged injuries,” said Commissioner King. “The following day, he submitted an insurance claim for both bracelets listed on the fraudulent insurance policy, indicating they were lost in the accident. Along with bank statements and other information, our investigators determined that the suspect had previously returned the $7,062 bracelet and was fully refunded.”

Warrants were taken out against Mr. Morse on December 6th in Forsyth County. He remains wanted at this time.
