Woman Arrested in Connection with Dalton Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Jessica Delli, 25, of Calhoun, is being charged with Arson in the 1st Degree, Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime, Criminal Damage to Property, and Reckless Conduct in connection with a Whitfield County fire. The fire occurred on Wednesday, October 6th, at approximately 5:57 a.m. and completely destroyed the 30-year-old, 2,000-square-foot home on Broad Acre Road in Dalton.

Quitman Camper Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Quitman County camper fire was intentionally set. The Quitman County Sheriff’s office was dispatched at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7th. The camper is located on a hunting property off of Andrew Slaughter Place in Georgetown. The fire moderately damaged the 27-year-old, 32-foot camper.

Greenville Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Meriwether County fire was intentionally set. The fire occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 2nd at the Greenville Commons Apartments on North Depot Street in Greenville. The fire moderately damaged the 17-year-old, two-bedroom apartment.

Habersham Stolen Vehicle Fire Ruled Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a vehicle stolen in Stephens County was found abandoned and had been intentionally set on fire. The fire occurred on Skyland Drive in Cornelia on Wednesday, September 29th.

Fire Prevention Week

The Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King is partnering with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety.” This year’s campaign, which runs from October 3rd-9th, is meant to educate everyone about the simple, yet important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.  

Man Arrested in Connection with Homeland Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that James Robinson, 18, is being charged with Arson in the 1st Degree, Burglary, Criminal Trespassing, and Obstruction in connection with a Charlton County fire. The instance occurred on Tuesday, September 7th, at approximately 9:00 a.m. and caused moderate damage to the 47-year-old 1,772-square-foot home.

Rossville Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Walker County Fire was intentionally set. The fire occurred at approximately 3:27 a.m. on Sunday, September 19, on Ivy Street in Rossville. The fire heavily damaged the 89-year-old, 928-square-foot residence.

One Killed in Dublin Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Robert Lee Height, 61, was killed in a Laurens County fire that occurred at 8:21 a.m. on Thursday, September 2nd.

Swainsboro Man Arrested for Arson, Animal Cruelty

On August 31st, a member of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigations Unit was requested by the Swainsboro Fire Department to assist with a fire investigation on North Main Street in Swainsboro. The fire occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. on August 28th and caused moderate damage to the 83-year-old, 1564-square-foot home. Investigators examined the scene and determined the fire was intentionally set.

Man Arrested in Connection with Avera Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Randy Holt, 58, is being charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Damage to Property and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon in connection with a Jefferson County Fire. The instance occurred on Sunday, September 5th, at approximately 1:11 a.m. and destroyed the 1,568 square-foot mobile home.
