McDonough Woman Wanted for Fraud, Forgery

ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that warrants have been issued for the arrest of Christina Hutchins, 32, for one count of Insurance Fraud and one count of Forgery in the 1st Degree. Ms. Hutchins is wanted in connection with a Henry County case.

Commissioner King Takes Action Against Nevada-Based Company

Last week, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King issued a Cease and Desist Order against TRPN DirectPay, Inc., a Nevada-based company that is alleged to have been unlawfully acting as an unlicensed Third Party Administrator in Georgia.

Crawfordville Camper Fire Causes Fatality

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King Fire announced today that a camper fire in Taliaferro County claimed the life of one individual. The fire occurred on June 5 at approximately 9 a.m. on Saggus Road in Crawfordville and is believed to be accidental in nature.

Habersham Man Arrested for Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Shawn Harkness, 44, was arrested on charges of 1st Degree Arson. Mr. Harkness was wanted in connection with a fire that occurred on Monday, May 31, at the Days Inn located on Level Grove Road.

Emanuel County Woman Killed in Accidental Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King today announced that Dorothy I. Williams, 73, of Twin City, was killed in an accidental fire on June 1st.

Habersham Man Wanted for Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Shawn Harkness, 44, is wanted on charges of 1st Degree Arson relating to a Cornelia fire. The instance occurred at approximately 4:47 p.m. on Monday, May 31, at the Days Inn located on Level Grove Road. Upon investigation, an agent with the State Fire Marshal’s office determined that the fire originated in the facility’s storage room and was caused by a human act.

Greensboro Fire Intentionally Set

On May 27, a member of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigation Unit was requested by the Greensboro Police Department to assist in a Greene County fire on North East Street. The fire occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. and caused severe damage to the 81-year-old, 992-square-foot vacant residence. This fire is classified as incendiary in nature.

Mountain City Fire Ruled Arson

On May 24, a member of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigation Unit was requested to assist in a Rabun County fire on Electric Ave. The fire occurred just before 5:00 p.m. and caused minor damage to the 80-year-old, 1000-square-foot residence that was in the process of being renovated. This fire has been ruled Arson.

Cordele Woman Killed in Accidental Fire

On May 24, Arson Investigators with the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King were called to a residential fire fatality on Highway 280 in Crisp County. The fire occurred at approximately 6:03 a.m., and the home was fully engulfed in flames when units arrived. The single-story wood structure was occupied by Willis White, 65, Sherry Duncan, 56, and Lamar Forehand, 57.
