Baker County Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a cotton harvest in Baker County was intentionally set on fire. The fire occurred on Pretoria Road in Newton around 5:02 p.m. on Thursday, November 25.  The Baker County Fire Department responded and found 36 cotton bales fully engulfed in flames.

Bulloch County Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Bulloch County fire was intentionally set. The fire occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m. on November 16th on Everett Lane in Brooklet. The fire totally destroyed the 36-year-old, 828-square-foot residence.

Buena Vista Car Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a vehicle in Marion County was intentionally set on fire. The fire occurred on Power Station Road in Buena Vista around 8:44 p.m. on Monday, November 8th. The 1984 Cadillac Coupe De Ville suffered severe damage.

Woman Wanted in Connection with Gwinnett Fraud Case

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that warrants have been issued for Cassondra Daniele Fuller, 30, of Blacksburg, Virginia, for three counts of Insurance Fraud. Ms. Fuller is wanted in connection with a Gwinnett County case.

Trion Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Chattooga County fire was intentionally set. The fire occurred at approximately 7:21 a.m. on October 30th at Mount Vernon Mills in Trion. The fire caused several million dollars worth of damage to the 181-year-old, 1,000,000-square-foot plant.

Man Wanted in Connection with Dekalb Fraud, Forgery

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that warrants have been issued for Justin G. Redd, 35, of Atlanta, for two counts of Insurance Fraud and one count of 1st Degree Forgery. Mr. Redd is wanted in connection with a Dekalb County case.

Loganville Fire Intentionally Set

On November 16th, a member of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigations Unit was requested to assist in a fire investigation on Highway 20 in Loganville. The fire occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. and moderately damaged the 47-year-old, 1848-square-foot residence.

Atlanta Man Accused of Fraud, Forgery

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that warrants have been issued for Tyrone Bernard Briscoe, 35, of Atlanta, for one count of Insurance Fraud, 16 counts of 1st Degree Forgery, and one count of False Statements and Writings, Concealment of Facts, and Fraudulent Documents in matters within the jurisdiction of state of political subdivisions. 

South Georgia Man Convicted of Murder and Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Timothy Larue Sheffield, 59, was convicted of Murder and Arson on Friday, October 29th, in connection with a 2013 incident involving the death of his wife. Mr. Sheffield was sentenced to life in prison.
