One Killed in Dublin Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Robert Lee Height, 61, was killed in a Laurens County fire that occurred at 8:21 a.m. on Thursday, September 2nd.

Swainsboro Man Arrested for Arson, Animal Cruelty

On August 31st, a member of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigations Unit was requested by the Swainsboro Fire Department to assist with a fire investigation on North Main Street in Swainsboro. The fire occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. on August 28th and caused moderate damage to the 83-year-old, 1564-square-foot home. Investigators examined the scene and determined the fire was intentionally set.

Man Arrested in Connection with Avera Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Randy Holt, 58, is being charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Damage to Property and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon in connection with a Jefferson County Fire. The instance occurred on Sunday, September 5th, at approximately 1:11 a.m. and destroyed the 1,568 square-foot mobile home.  

McDonough Woman Wanted for Insurance Fraud

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a warrant was issued for Jasmine Bland, 30, of McDonough, for one count of Insurance Fraud. Ms. Bland is wanted in connection with a Henry County Case.  

Suspect Wanted in Connection with Blackshear Apartment Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Russell Leon Warner, 49, of Fulton County, is wanted in connection with a Pierce County fire that occurred on Sunday, September 12, just after 5:00 a.m. on Pomeroy Street in Blackshear.

Alto Stolen Vehicle Fire Ruled Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a vehicle stolen in Banks County was found abandoned and had been intentionally set on fire. The fire occurred on Grant Mill Road in Alto around 3:37 a.m. on Monday, September 13th.

Concord Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Pike County fire was intentionally set. The fire was set at approximately 9:45 p.m. on September 1st on Second Street in Concord, and severely damaged the 59-year-old, 1080-square-foot building.

One Person Killed in Cook County Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Vera Mae Jones, 76, was killed in an early morning Adel fire on Wednesday, August 25th.

Douglas Man Arrested for Arson

On August 21st, a member of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King’s Fire Investigations Unit was requested by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office to assist in a fire investigation on Warren Carter Road in Douglas. The fire occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. and caused moderate damage to the 20-year-old mobile home. Mr. Richard Darrin Davis, 56, was charged as a result of the incident.

Trenton Fire Intentionally Set

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Dade County fire was intentionally set. The fire was set at approximately 2:25 a.m. on September 1st on Railway Lane in Trenton, and moderately damaged the 86-year-old, 1974-square-foot building.
