Georgia Authorities Arrest Greenville Woman for Insurance Fraud
ATLANTA – The Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Tamaika Lashay Hickman, 29, was arrested by Bibb County authorities on one count of insurance fraud and five counts of forgery in the 1st degree.
Hickman claimed that she and two juvenile passengers were involved in a private property vehicle accident in South Carolina in June 2018. Fraudulent medical bills obtained by investigators showed that Hickman and the juveniles received medical treatment at North Greenville Hospital on June 7, 2018.
“Greenville Health Systems told both South Carolina and Georgia investigators that Ms. Hickman and the two juveniles were not seen by any of their medical professionals,” said Commissioner King. “Ms. Hickman sent the fraudulent bills to GEICO to gain insurance funds.”
In total, investigators discovered that Ms. Hickman received $5,606.80 in medical claims from GEICO, which resulted in being charged with one count insurance fraud and five counts forgery in the 1st degree.
Hickman was arrested and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office in Macon, Georgia.
