ATLANTA – The Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Marcus Tyler Kirby, 26, has been arrested in connection with a fire at 761 Highway 41 South in Cecil. The fire occurred around 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18.

“This fire originated in the front bedroom of the 1,200-square-foot home before doing major damage to the home’s front and its roof,” said Commissioner King. “We assisted the Cook County Fire Department and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office with this investigation.”

Mr. Kirby has been arrested for Arson in the 1st Degree. He is being held at the Cook County Jail.
