ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Kamala Anderson, 45, of Snellville, has been arrested for filing a fraudulent insurance claim.

In June of 2022, Ms. Anderson submitted a medical claim to her insurance company for injuries associated with a personal care device. Her submission included several care documents from a medical facility in Atlanta, along with a bill of more than $15,000.

“Upon discussion with the medical facility, our investigators revealed that Ms. Anderson did not receive care from the facility, and the documents were forged,” said Commissioner King. “In total, the suspect attempted to procure an estimated $350,000 in fraudulent insurance payments.”

Ms. Anderson was arrested on July 11th, 2024 by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. She has since been released on bond.
