Eastman Restaurant Firebombed

On Saturday, May 22nd, agents with the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office were called to a reported firebombing at a Captain D’s restaurant in Dodge County. 911 operators had received a call at 12:01 a.m. regarding a fire that had damaged portions of the back wall, roof, and telephone lines at the restaurant located at 6006 Oak Street.

Telfair County Man Arrested for Arson, Burglary

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Michael Bartholomew Brown, 19, was arrested on charges of Burglary and 1st Degree Arson. The incident occurred around 5:12 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18th. The 1000-square-foot mobile home, located on Ashford Drive in McRae-Helena, was totally destroyed.  

Riverdale Woman Wanted for Fraud, Forgery

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that warrants have been issued for the arrest of Shontae Barber, 40, for one count of Insurance Fraud and one count of Forgery in the 1st Degree. Ms. Barber is wanted in connection with a Clayton County case.

Sugar Valley Woman Wanted for Fraud, Forgery

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that one person was killed in a Seminole County fire. The accidental fire occurred at a single-story wood-frame home on South Tennille Avenue in Donaldsonville around 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 25.

The incident occurred around 5:02 a.m. on Thursday, April 1. The 2741-square-foot structure is located on Gordon Highway in Augusta.

Two Killed in Blairsville Explosion

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that two people were killed in a Union County explosion on Sunday morning, May 2nd. The blast occurred at 307 Pauline Lane in Blairsville. The 1,594-square-foot structure was approximately 26 years old and was entirely destroyed by the blast.
