Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Travis Lee Randle, 39, on one count of Insurance Fraud and one count of Forgery in the 1st Degree. Mr. Randle is wanted in connection with a Clayton County case.

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a residential fire in Decatur County was intentionally set and has been ruled an act of arson. The fire occurred at 3229 Fowlstown Road in Attapulgus around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 27.

Appling County Woman Killed in Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Patricia Ann Reeves, 69, passed away in an Appling County fire. The fire occurred at 920 Blackshear Highway in the early morning hours of Monday, December 21.  

Berrien County Fire Kills Two Motor Home Residents

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that two Berrien County residents passed away in a fire on Sunday, December 20. The fire destroyed a motor home around 7:30 a.m. at 218 Melody Lane in Enigma before killing John Kyle Phillips, 23, and Jeane Griner, 32.

Two Jackson County Yard Fires Ruled Arson

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that two different yard fires in Jefferson were intentionally set and have been ruled acts of arson. 

Parrott Man Dies in Accidental Camper Fire

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Phillip Eckert, 53, died in a camper fire off of Highway 520 near the line between Terrell and Webster counties. The fire was reported to local authorities around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, December 14.  

Claxton Fire Destroys Entertainment Complex, State Investigates

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that his State Fire Investigations Unit is looking into a fire at the Airport Entertainment Complex in Claxton. The fire occurred on Sunday, December 6, around 2:00 a.m. at the complex off of Highway 301 in Evans County.

Zebulon Man Killed After Propane Tank Explodes

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Kevin Lee Botsford, 56, passed away yesterday in an accidental fire off of Highway 19 in Zebulon. The deadly fire occurred in a duplex at 5343 US Highway 19 and was reported by a neighbor.

Arson, Burglary Investigation Underway in Swainsboro

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that an automotive shop fire in Swainsboro is being investigated by state and local authorities as both an arson and a burglary. The fire occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, at Rusty’s Nut Garage in Emanuel County.
