Premium Finance Companies

An agent or agency that engages in the business of entering into an insurance premium finance agreement with (either a Full Powers license of having multiple contracts or Limited Powers license of having one contract) an insured or prospective insured promises to pay to the premium finance company the amount advanced or to be advanced under the agreement to an insurer, agent or broker in payment of premiums on an insurance contract together with a service charge.
Applying for a License:

Complete all Necessary Documents and Forms
Make copies of all corporate documents and complete the forms needed. which are linked below These documents can be uploaded as one pdf to assist with a more streamlined process for review.
- Copy of Chapter and Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws
- Certificate of Good Standing or Existence from the Georgia Secretary of State
- Certified Financial Statements.
- Two copies of proposed Premium Finance agreement form, which shall be in compliance with O.C.G.A. § 33-22-8 and 33-22-12
- Statement letter stating that you wish to be licensed to finance premiums produced by your agency only if applicable (Name finance company and agency in letter)
- List of Georgia agent’s license number for each officer/manager of the applicant
- An investigative background report (included in the report must be a past 10-year history verifying the residences in which the individual in question has lived, any local, state and federal court findings related to the individual in question) for each individual changed in the organization

- Select New Insurance License
- Select If Resident or Non-resident (if the business office location is in Georgia (Resident) or out of state (Non-Resident)
- Select Firm as type of applicant
- Enter Firm Name and EIN and select which type of preparer
- Select Georgia
- Complete Payment Method
- Answer all questions and enter all fields for agency
- Upload required documents and forms. In one pdf if possible instead of individual documents.
- Submit

What to Expect after Filing
- After submission, an email will be sent confirming submittal.
- The application will be reviewed within ten (10) business days of submittal
- Any deficiencies will be sent via an email to the applicant email address
- All deficiencies must be resolved within 60 days of the email notice
- If not completed, the application will be closed incomplete
- Another application submittal including payment of all fees will be required. No refunds for closed incomplete applications.
- If the application is approved, the license will be sent via email as an attachment. Please save the license. Any future copies will require a fee for printing.
Renewing a License:

Renewing Calendar and System
- Renewal reminder notices are sent via email the first week of December
- Renewal is to be filed by March 1 of every year
- Renewals are submitted via Sircon.com/georgia and renewal fees are to be paid at the time of submission
- If possible, all documents should be uploaded as one pdf in order to streamline the reviewing process
- Renewal Fees for Full Powers PFC - $500.00 plus $5 processing fee
- Renewal Fees for Limited Powers PFC - $300.00 plus $5 processing fee

Copies of Required Documents and Complete Forms
- If any changes in ownership or principal officers, a Biographical Questionnaire and a Release of Information form for each individual is required
- If required, Revised organizational chart and job descriptions
- If required, Revised Bylaws and/or articles of incorporation
- Annual Report
- Proof of Continuation of Bond or New Bond
- If the responsible individual that previously submitted the citizenship affidavit and ID are no longer associated with the PFC, a new Citizenship Affidavit and acceptable id must be provided.

- Access www.sircon.com/georgia
- Select Renew Insurance License and Firm
- Enter Renewal State
- Enter EIN, Georgia, Georgia License Number and click on Continue
- Review contact information and update as needed
- Respond to all questions
- Upload all required documents and forms
- Complete with payment of fees
