Non-Admitted Insurance

As of 4/1/2022 all Georgia non-admitted insurers must file through Surplus Lines Information Portal - Login (slasuite.com), per Download this pdf file. Directive 22-EX-1 .  If you do not already have an account set up, please contact the Premium Tax Division at [email protected] and provide the filers name and license/NAIC/ORG ID number.

SLIP still remains the filing system for Non-Admitted filings.

  • Surplus Lines Brokers

    The GIMS Portal must be utilized when filing quarterly premium tax for surplus line brokers for policies prior to 1/1/2021. Also utilize this Portal for endorsements/returns that were originally filed on paper, until the time that policy renews or expires. Upon renewal policies must be filed in SLIP. Please do not file zero affidavits (no business receipts for the quarter) until further notice. Only file in the GIMS Portal if there is business to report prior to 1/1/2021.

    Please Note: Previous versions of the Surplus Line Broker's Affidavit are not acceptable, will be returned, and may be considered not timely filed.  Usage of the GID-212-PT going forward is not acceptable, will be returned, and may be considered not timely filed.

     

  • Risk Retention Groups

    The GIMS Portal must be utilized when filing quarterly premium tax for Risk Retention Groups for policies prior to 1/1/2021. Also utilize this Portal for endorsements/returns that were originally filed on paper, until the time that policy renews or expires. Upon renewal policies must be filed in SLIP. Please do not file zero (no business receipts for the quarter) affidavits until further notice. Only file in the GIMS Portal if there is business to report prior to 1/1/2021.

    Please Note:  If you are not filing a fourth quarter affidavit, the Georgia Retaliatory Tax Computation must be filed by the fourth quarter due date of January 15th. Usage of the GID-215-PT going forward is not acceptable, will be returned, and may be considered not timely filed.

  • Direct Procurement

    The GIMS Portal must be utilized for insurance independently procured (i.e., procured without a licensed surplus line broker) prior to 1/1/2021. Please note due dates are different for Surplus Line Broker filings and Direct Procurement filings (O.C.G.A. §§ 33-5-29 (a) and 33-5-33 (a)).

    Please Note:  Usage of the GID-214-PT going forward is not acceptable, will be returned, and may be considered not timely filed.
